Review of The Swinging Cat
FEATURED IN: TOP 10 RESTAURANT & BAR OPENINGS OF 2015
The small bar phenomenon is alive and well in Sydney with the opening of New Orleans themed underground bar, The Swinging Cat.
Appropriately unsigned you’ll need to look for the entrance to Subway and head down a flight of stairs to find this jazzy gem. Once you’ve arrived you’ll find an inviting spot with plenty of comfy seating and good old fashioned hospitality in the form of table service. Who doesn’t love that?
Cocktails are the name of the game here with a New Orleans twist of course. Expect to see Southern classics on the menu such as a Hurricane or a Ramos Gin Fizz. Or maybe a craft beer or a glass of wine is more to your liking. We don’t discriminate and neither do they.
In terms of the food they’re keeping it simple for now, but we hear their Grilled Wagyu and Cheese sandwich is fast making a name for itself.
The Swinging Cat is a grown up bar where you can easily settle back, relax and enjoy an evening, without having to strain your vocal cords. Whether in a group or as a couple, we think you’ll feel right at home with their friendly service.
A welcome addition to the Sydney small bar scene.
