Review of The Owl House
The Owl House has moved from its old digs on Crown Street to its new location on Victoria Street.
Now those of you who may remember the old venue, will recall that it was rather cosy. The new space allows room for a lounge, bar, dining and an outdoor area.
But, whilst the venue may have changed, their a focus on exceptional cocktails and cuisine remains the same. We’re not talking your standard gastro-pub fare, just check out their degustation menu with either matching wine or cocktails, if you don’t believe us!
By day, The Owl House is a cafe, offering breakfast and lunch menus. In the evenings, the menu changes to a selection of bar snacks, mains and desserts.
But if you really want to sample the best of their fare, we suggest you choose their 8 course degustation which you can match with either wine or cocktails. Good to know the portions are spot on so you won’t be feeling too full at the end of your 8 dishes.
Speaking of cocktails, The Owl House specialise in them and as with their food menu, they change their list according to the seasons. They also like to create their own versions of classics such as their 1930’s Cosmo, which they make with their own spiced cranberry puree and mix with Ketel 1 citroen vodka, Cointreau and lime.
To top it all off, the service is personalised, friendly and attentive. They seem to want you to feel right at home and we think you will.
We think The Owl House is a great option for a casual breakfast, lunch or dinner with a group of friends, or a top spot for a romantic date.
