Review of The Butler
The Butler takes up residence in the old Mezzuluna site in Potts Point.
Brought to us by the Applejack Hospitality Group, the same good people behind those fine establishments The Botanist, SoCal, Bondi Hardware and Della Hyde, you can expect to find a similar uber cool quirky resto/bar at The Butler.
The Butler takes it name from the historic Butlers Restaurant that occupied the site many years ago. The previously formal space has been completely transformed into a casual oasis with indoor and outdoor areas. There’s an abundance of natural light, warm woods and green foliage. Banquette seating has been installed and there’s not a white table cloth in sight. But one thing remains the same. That spectacular city view from the outdoor terrace.
Food wise they’re serving an Ibero-American menu. It’s share style and perfectly suited to groups. You’ll find a selection of nibbles and more substantial meals to choose from. Or, make it easy and choose The Butler’s Banquet.
For the drinks make your choice between Australian or international drops. Or maybe a cocktail is more to your liking.
The vibe is loud and fun. Think pumping tunes and plenty of patrons. If you’re looking for a quiet first date restaurant, you’d best look elsewhere. Also, worth noting it’s a popular spot, so be prepared to wait for a table if you haven’t scored a rez.
