Review of Sokyo

I’m going to start off this post by saying ‘I don’t like Casinos’.  I personally don’t like to gamble and I pretty much avoid Casinos as a general rule.  So for a restaurant inside a Casino to grab my attention – it really has to be something special.

Well Sokyo happens to be located inside The Star Casino and is one of the few reasons I will step foot inside such a complex.

Sokyo offers a Kaiseki-style sharing menu alongside Sake and bespoke cocktails.

Sure the decor may be glitzy (which suits the Casino vibe) but don’t be fooled – the food and drinks are top notch here.

Food at Sokyo

Chef Chase Kokima has married traditional flavours with his own innovative take on classic Japanese food.

Naturally there is sushi and sashimi on offer and it is fresh!  The menu then moves on to Robata (skewers) and then into main dishes.

The drinks have not been forgotten with Sake taking centre stage along with a cocktail menu.

The food and drinks are set to a lounge soundtrack and the whole vibe is rather chilled.

Good to know they offer breakfast, lunch and dinner options – so you can visit any time of day.

Whilst I usually avoid Casinos, visiting Sokyo is one of the few reasons I will bend my rules and it is worth it!
