Review of Society Di Catania
Society Di Catania is the newest addition in the Society group, joining Society Pizzeria at Bondi. Whilst Society Pizzeria serves up pizzas only, Society Di Catania ups the ante offering a lot more than just their staple wood fire pizzas.
Society Di Catania has taken over the old Jimmy Lik’s site in Potts Point. They’ve transformed the slightly awkward horseshoe shaped interior with white washed walls, dark timber communal tables and striking black and white Sicilian hand gesture art works. The bar is on one side and the restaurant on the other and you’ll find the all important pizza oven located at the back.
Naturally authentic wood fire pizzas play an important role on the menu at Society Di Catania with both rossa and bianca bases offered. But unlike their Bondi sibling they are also offering a selection of Sicilian influenced entrees such as burrata and chargrilled calamari along with antipasto boards as well as a range of handmade pastas including gnocchi and pappardelle ragu and desserts such as Tiramisu and Matteo’s Creme Brûlée.
On the drinks menu you can choose from a range of Italian wines as well as a selection of cocktails.
We think Society Di Catania is best suited for groups and is a top pit stop to fuel a night out at Potts Points’ many nearby bars. It’s a little slice of Sicily in Potts Point!
