Review of Shady Pines Saloon
Shady Pines Saloon is one of the original small bars in Sydney and despite the myriad of small bars to open since, it remains a favourite.
You will find this small bar hidden down a laneway, but don’t waste your time looking for a sign, as is the case with most cool bars these days, you won’t find one. Descend the stairs and enter a dimly lit honky-tonk place. It’s a taxidermist’s paradise, with stuffed animal heads lining the walls. Welcome to the Wild Wild West.
The barmen take their drinks seriously in this saloon, and you can expect to be enjoying top quality cocktails before too long, or maybe a whisky or beer is more to your liking.
Country music fills the air, there are plenty of peanuts to go around and we think it’s almost impossible not to have a good time here.
Though the decor may be on the kitsch side, don’t be fooled, this is a trendy bar. Full stop.
So, kick your heels up and have a boot scooting good time.
Oh, and if you like Shady Pines Saloon, then be sure to check out their other establishment, Baxter Inn.
