Review of Sefa Kitchen

Sefa Kitchen is a charming Bondi local located on Bondi Road.  ‘Sefa’ means ‘pleasure’ in Turkish and Arabic and it certainly appears pleasure is served up on a plate here at Sefa Kitchen.

The interior is a warm mishmash of styles, with exposed brick, bright colours, a central communal table and an inviting vibe.  They also offer outdoor seating.

Ex-Rockpool Chef Simon Zalloua is behind the food, which can best be described as Turkish, or maybe Lebanese, or perhaps Middle Eastern or even Mediterranean.  We are not quite sure what it is, but we are certain that it is good.  The communal way of Meze dining is embraced with the menu best shared amongst friends.  Also good to know they’re open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus they offer a very reasonably priced set menu.

For the drinks you may choose from boutique international and Australian wines, unique ales brewed from as close as Manly to as far away as Lebanon as well as lush cocktails.  Plus they also offer beverage packages for groups.  Oh, and good to know it’s BYO on Tuesday and Wednesdays.

We think Sefa Kitchen is a real gem.  Bondi locals must be thanking their lucky stars.
