Review of QT Sydney
QT Sydney is a boutique 5 star hotel located in Sydney’s CBD. But from the moment you step foot inside you will quickly realise this is not your average hotel and is a far cry from your traditional ‘corporate’ city hotel.
QT Sydney has found its home inside the historic Gowings and State Theatre buildings on Market Street. The hotel has a focus on the eclectic and the quirky with art and design playing a major role in the hotels playful interiors. There is a distinct cabaret feel throughout the hotel with a bold use of colours, prints and textures fused with interactive artworks and peculia memorabilia.
This is a hotel that doesn’t take itself too seriously. This is a hotel that wants to make you smile.
QT Sydney Rooms
The hotel boasts 200 rooms, spread between the Gowings and State Theatre buildings. Each room retains its own unique charm and character. Expect to find bright pops of colours, luxurious rugs, leather seating, interesting artworks, moody lighting and eccentric touches.
The bathrooms feature dark stone with a stunning free standing bathtub (with the exception of the entry level room), a spacious rain shower and double basins.
Be sure to look out for your Espresso Martini cocktail making kit in each room! A nice touch.
Free wifi is offered throughout the hotel and in the rooms.
QT Sydney Restaurants
Gowings Bar & Grill, located up the stairs from the lobby, is their signature restaurant and bar and has become a hot spot for Sydney locals as well as hotel guests. The European style brasserie offers breakfast (a la carte), lunch, dinner, drink and snack options with rotisserie meats and seafood a specialty.

Head up the stairs from Gowings Bar & Grill to find this luxurious cocktail lounge. It’s the perfect spot for a nightcap.
Parlour Lane Roasters
On the ground floor at the entry to QT Sydney you will notice Parlour Lane Roasters, a European style cafe offering breakfast, lunch and coffee and transforming into an aperitivo bar in the afternoon until late.
In-room dining is available 24 hours a day with a small menu selection from Gowings Bar & Grill.
spaQ at QT Sydney
SpaQ is QT Sydney‘s signature spa. The spa offers 6 treatment rooms, a Hammam inspired steam room with ice fountain and a men’s barber.
When booking a spa treatment you are encouraged to book for a length of time, rather than a treatment. Treatments are then selected on the day, depending on your mood in consultation with your therapist. Though a spa menu is offered for inspiration.
I chose the Turkish Salt Scrub treatment on my visit, which seemed the perfect option to slough off that Winter skin in preparation for Spring! Though be warned – this is a ‘vigorous’ scrub! My skin felt baby soft following my treatment and I will in fact be adding this scrub to my regular skin care routine.
