Review of No.1 Bent Street
FEATURED IN: TOP 10 OPENINGS OF 2016
Whilst Rosebery locals are no doubt still mourning the loss of Kitchen by Mike, the city set must be counting their lucky stars! Mike McEarney is back with his new venture, No. 1 Bent Street.
Appropriately located at 1 Bent Street, Mike has traded up from his canteen to a fully fledged restaurant. The interior is rustic featuring grey hues, with polished concrete and distressed timber featuring heavily along with an open kitchen with a wood fire oven of course.
The menu remains true to Mike’s cooking ethos with a respect shown to the produce and a simplicity of cooking and it will change regularly according to the best available produce.
They bake bread in house daily and that’s usually a good place to start. Whether you chose to lather your slice in Pepe Saya butter or Chicken Liver Pate is up to you. For mains, you may be tempted by the Fish Pie or maybe the Roast Chicken Vinaigrette is more to your liking. Of course there are a number of sweet treats and cheeses to finish your meal.
We think No. 1 Bent Street is a welcome addition to the ever growing list of city dining options. It’s also a great corporate lunch or dinner choice.
