Review of Lox Stock & Barrel
Lox Stock & Barrel is a buzzing New York style deli diner serving up wholesome dishes with a farm to plate approach. The interior is bright and airy with plenty of natural light and the essential Bondi grunge feel.
The food whilst Jewish in origin is influenced by the best seasonably available produce. Their hand made baked goods (including bagels) are available all day plus they are open for breakfast and lunch 7 days and dinner 4 days a week.
For breakfast, they offer plenty of fresh and healthy options such as the Lock’n’Load (hash, smoked lox, lime & creme fraiche dill dressing) or the ‘Menemen’ (Turkish style eggs, chickpeas, yogurt and sage).
On the lunch menu you’ll find a selection of sandwiches (it’s hard to go past the Homemade Brisket Pastrami) , salads and chicken soup with the dinner menu being made up of share style platters as well as medium and large dishes, including salads, vegetables, meats and seafood. They also offer a 3 course set menu for groups and a kids menu for the little ones.
In terms of the drinks you’re spoilt for choice with coffee, smoothies, shakes, beer, wine and cocktails to choose from.
We think Lox Stock & Barrel is a top spot whether you visit for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Just beware that it is always pumping and loud!
