Review of Johnny Fishbone
The guys behind one of our favourite cheese joints, The Buffalo Dining Club, have taken over the old Hinky Dinks site and turned it into a wine parlour they’re calling Johnny Fishbone.
The interior of Johnny Fishbone has been completely transformed with no sign of the old retro 50’s vibe. Instead they’ve opted for a dark and moody space with wood panelling, dark green leather seating, wine bottles lining the walls and a long marble topped bar taking centre stage. It’s an old world feel.
Of course, wine is the star at Johnny Fishbone and they take their list seriously, but not too seriously. Their wine list is playfully divided into famous Johnny’s. There’s a focus on organic and skin contact drops.
On the food menu you’ll find a small selection of tapas style bar snacks with seafood featuring prominently.
We think Johnny Fishbone is a welcome addition to the Darlinghurst dining scene. If you can get a table that is! Don’t forget you’ve got Bar Brose just across the road should you be looking to do a bar crawl.
