Review of Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Hong Kong
The Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Hong Kong was the first hotel for the brand and to this day it is still their flagship offering. This iconic hotel remains popular with tourists and locals alike. Once upon a time the hotel sat right on the water but over the years, as Hong Kong continued to reclaim land, the hotel now finds itself in the centre of the business district (Central). Though they can still offer some enviable views of Victoria Harbour.
The Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong is a grand hotel of yester-year, which is obvious the moment you step foot inside the lobby. This hotel simply oozes luxury with an abundance of marble and sparkling chandeliers. The colour palette is rich and deep, adorned with plush rugs, Chinese artefacts and soft leather.
The service inside this hotel is impeccable. In fact, it is consistently some of the best service we have received in any hotel anywhere in the world. It’s not hard to understand why The Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong is often considered one of the best hotels in the world.
Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong Rooms
There are 500 rooms and suites at The Mandarin Oriental Hotel, offering city and harbour views. The interiors are sleek and comfortable, whilst still retaining a traditional charm. We love their turndown service where they will leave you a special treat each night such as an eye mask or a foot spray.
The entry level room starts at 35-40sqm’s, but if money’s no object you’re going to want a suite!
