Review of Della Hyde
FEATURED IN: TOP 10 RESTAURANT & BAR OPENINGS OF 2015
As with each of their establishments, Della Hyde has its own unique theme, this time paying homage to the old lobby bars of yesteryear. Though in actual fact, this is not a lobby bar it is an underground bunker bar.
The name Della Hyde is inspired by a grand hotel which apparently existed on the site (in Hyde Park) and was named after a famous American actress Della Pringle.
Pastel pinks take centre stage at this vintage bar and you may notice a slight nod to the art deco era. There’s plenty of seating and areas for groups.
They’ve taken an interesting focus for the food, showcasing European and North African fare.
As with their other venues, the food menu is perfect for sharing. Bar snacks, Lebanese breads, Moroccan flavoured pizza – you get the drift. Oh, and these sticky lamb ribs pictured below!
In terms of the drinks – they’re offering a rotating cocktail list plus all the classics, wine and beer of course.
Oh, and coffee lovers may be interested to check out their cold drip espresso cocktails, served over ice.
The Applejack group have done it again. We can’t help but wonder what their next venue will be. Look out Merivale!
