Review of Daniel San
Daniel San call themselves a Chow Down Bar & Beachside Dojo and who are we to argue? They’ve certainly scored on the beachside front.
Daniel San, which is named after The Karate Kid, is a Japanese bar offering indoor and outdoor spaces, including a rooftop with spectacular Manly ocean views.
However, don’t expect the decor to be completely Japanese themed.
Downstairs at their Chow Down Bar, they’ve channelled Ginza electro-pop, with bright colours and neon lighting. It’s a fun space with plenty of seating for groups.
However for their Rooftop Dojo, they’ve chosen to go with light and airy with plenty of whites, cool greys and pale distressed woods. They’ve got the relaxed beachside vibe down pat.
The food menu offers Japanese street food. Expect to see items such as Robata grills (skewers), sashimi and sushi, steamed buns and desserts.
The menu is perfect for sharing, whether you’re looking for a complete meal or just a nibble. They also offer a banquet menu, which is a great option for groups.
For their drinks menu you’ve got Japanese inspired cocktails to choose from as well as a Sake, beer and wine list of course.
Keep a look out for their special events such as Sunday Sundowners or San Saturdays with hot DJ line ups. There’s always something going on.
