Review of Da Orazio Pizza + Porchetta
Maurice Tenrzi, one of the pair formerly behind Icebergs amongst other establishments, now turns his hand to a bright and airy Italian eatery at Bondi, Da Orazio Pizza + Porchetta.
With polished concrete floors, white tables and chairs, loads of natural light and a wood fired pizza oven imported direct from Naples, it fits right in to the Bondi scene.
The pizzas are Neapolitan in style and naturally made in-house. But never fear if pizzas not your thing, there are plenty of other options to temp you – salads, antipasti and pastas are on the menu. Plus, let’s not forget the porchetta, a Berkshire pig slow cooked on a rotisserie and served two ways. Oh, and we’ll take the house Tiramisu for dolci thanks. Yum.
There is a small Italian wine list to accompany the food menu.
The paper menu is simple, but the food deliciously authentic and tasty. It’s refreshingly no fuss.
Just beware the place is buzzing and quiet is not a word we would use to describe it. We think Maurice is on to a winner with his latest offering.
