Review of CHISWICK
CHISWICK is owned by Matt Moran and Peter Sullivan and occupies the former Pruniers site in Woollahra.
Named after the gardens in which the restaurant is situated, CHISWICK‘s menu is designed to be shared, with an emphasis on seasonal produce, much of which is grown in their own kitchen garden.
Whilst still retaining its original charm, the inside of the restaurant has been completely remodelled, creating an open, warm, elegant but relaxed space. The open kitchen provides the perfect opportunity to take a peak into their kitchen secrets.
Take a seat at the long bar, and you just may learn a secret or two, but at the very least, you’ll be enticed by the delicious plates making their way out of the kitchen. The open plan restaurant is surrounded by white pained windows and is filled with light timber tables with french style bistro chairs.
In terms of the menu – think rustic home cooking where the produce is the star. Though, for our money, we can never go past the Moran Family Lamb and that is always a staple in our order (see pic below). But each to his (or her) own. One thing is for sure – you will be spoilt for choice and you should rest assured that the produce will be top shelf, no matter what you order.
Not only is the food amazing, but the service is also fast, efficient and knowledgeable. What more could you ask for?
The restaurant is set up well for groups too with a range of semi-private areas. They also take reservations in their dining room – yippee!
