Review of Brewtown Newtown
Brewtown Newtown is a bustling neighbourhood micro coffee roastery and cafe.
The large warehouse interior is rustic, with exposed brick walls and timber beams and seating at the bar or at tables. Bonus points if you’re lucky enough to score a comfy booth seat!
Naturally, there is a strong focus on coffee (both espresso and filter styles). But, we get most excited about their cronuts which have fast made a name for themselves as some of the best in town. They are light and flaky and come in almost every flavour (both sweet and savoury) you could imagine. Heaven.
But, for something more substantial – you will be pleased with their all day breakfast offerings, with interesting options such as chilli fennel pork shoulder hash, cabbage, peas, poached eggs & toast or maybe a vegan bircher muesli, pecans, spiced ginger, coconut yoghurt, rhubarb, pears, goji berries & liquorice?
They take a produce to plate approach, so the food is always fresh and flavoursome.
Or, you may prefer to choose from their all day lunch menu, with indulgent options such as the Elvis burger, ground beef, savoury brewnut, canadian bacon, gruyere and aioli (oh my) or lighter options such as their Super food bowl, roasted sweet potato and cauliflower, quinoa, pistachio, pomegranates, sprouts, feta, raisins with a mustard lemon dressing.
There’s something to suit all moods.
One word of warning – this place does get busy and you should expect to have to wait for a table. Always the way with a good brunch spot, right?!
