Review of Bodega
FEATURED IN: TOP 10 RESTAURANTS IN SURRY HILLS
Before there was Porteno, there was Bodega. A hip tapas bar located in Surry Hills with the same rockabilly flavour as its Argentinean brother.
The space is dominated by a vibrant mural on one wall, an open kitchen and a distinct retro feel.
Owner and chefs Ben Milgate and Elvis Abrahanowicz inject their fun, quiffed, tattooed flair into creating Bodega‘s menu. An innovative modern tapas selection is offered, with the menu changing regularly according to the best available produce. Though thankfully you will always find their signatures the Fish Fingers and Banana Split on the menu.
The South American and Spanish wine list is extensive, with the friendly wait staff on hand to assist with your selection.
Bodega is a cheerful place, it’s loud and doesn’t take itself too seriously. Pair that with interesting cuisine, unique wines and good company and we think a great night it makes.
Worth noting: there are no bookings for parties under 5 and chances are you will need to wait for a table. Just put your name down at the door and have a drink at a nearby bar while you wait. We hope you will agree it will be worth that wait.
