Bishop Sessa Bistro and Wine Bar Review
Surry Hills locals must be counting their lucky stars since Bishop Sessa Bistro and Wine Bar set up shop in their neighbourhood.
Owners, Chef Paul Cooper (The Botanical, Melbourne; Pied a Tierre, London) and Restaurateur, Erez Gordon (Jacques Reymond, Melbourne; The Botanical, Melbourne; Bistro Bruno, Balmain) have created a local gem.
The smart, chic interior offers a relaxed and welcoming vibe. Pull up a seat at the bar and you’re sure to feel like a regular in no time.
Taking a nose to tail approach, their meats are a standout. There is a focus on sustainable local produce and as much of their menu as possible is made in-house. An a la carte menu is offered for lunch and dinner, plus they offer a very reasonably priced 6 course degustation ($69 or $119 including matching wines). Bargain.
An extensive wine list is offered comprising well known classics and lesser known varieties.
This is quality fare without the price tag.
Complete the experience with gracious and knowledgeable service and you’ve got it made.
Surry Hills local or not, we think Bishop Sessa is well worth adding to your dining repertoire.
