Art lovers rejoice, the Biennale of Sydney, Australia’s largest and most respected contemporary visual arts event is upon us once again. From 27 June to 16 September, this free event showcases the work of more than 100 artists from over 44 countries, and is presented at various locations across Sydney, such as the Gallery of New South Wales, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Pier 2/3 and Cockatoo Island.
Held only every 2 years, the 2012 exhibition concept is ‘all our relations’, focusing on inclusionary art practices of generative thinking, such as collaboration, conversation and compassion. The exhibition is brought to us by Artistic Directors Catherine de Zegher and Gerald McMaster.
Some of the highlights include specially designed Art Lounges on Cockatoo Island and Pier 2/3, as well as After Dark Events at the Biennale Bar @ Pier 2/3 on Friday nights throughout August.
