The Winery at Surry Hills is a laneway winery and one of our firm favourite bar/restaurants.

This playful establishment is upstairs and downstairs, plus there’s an outside laneway, complete with garden furniture.

The vibe is quirky and fun and you can tell it doesn’t take itself too seriously.  Plus, you can be assured it will always be buzzing.

We love it because it suits all purposes, whether it be a group catch up or even a first date.  It’s the perfect spot be on a Sunday afternoon or a Tuesday evening.

Their All Day Menu is great for share plate options, or you can order a main course should you prefer, while their Group Menu makes an easy option for errr… groups.  There’s an extensive Drinks List, including great cocktails and of course, cocktail jugs – just perfect for whiling away an afternoon.

We also love their special events like their ‘Lobster Fridays’, the ‘Vino Vacation’ or ‘The Girls Picnic’ – there’s always something going on.

Oh, and did you know they have a private dining room?  Gracelands – a shrine to Elvis.  This could be a great option for your next birthday dinner…

Note: If you love The Winery, you may also like to check out their sister venues, Gazebo Wine Bar and Manly Wine.

In a nutshell:

Price:  $$  Appropriately priced for the fare.
Fare:  Share plates, mains,  great cocktails. All day menu.

Service:  Fun and friendly.
Location:  Conveniently located in its own laneway off Bourke Street.
Ambience:  Quirky, playful, fun – doesn’t take itself too seriously.
