So, the name is a bit of a mouthful, but the view is a definite draw card for this bar located at, well, the end of the wharf.
The location lends itself to a pre theater venue and it works well as such. But, the view is an attraction for those who may not be performing art enthusiasts.
A word of warning for women. It’s a long walk to the end of the wharf and it’s hard to avoid your heels getting stuck in the wooden floor boards. You have two options. Break out the ballet flats with a swift shoe change near the entrance, or walk on your tippy-toes to avoid those heels sinking in the cracks. Men, be aware of this, and slow your pace.
When you eventually reach the bar, you’re going to find soaring ceilings and postcard harbour views. In fact, you’d usually be thinking ‘tourist trap’, but you know this is not your typical tourist hang out.
We love the vibe – a mix of artsy folk and corporates of all ages. There’s not a hipster insight.
Not surprisingly, the food menu focuses on share plates and nibbles. Think ploughman’s platters, sliders and hot chips with chipotle mayo. Pretty much exactly what you’re looking for for a pre-theatre venue.
Should you visit the bar sans theater ticket for a drink only, we suggest you pop across the road for dinner at Cafe Sopra at Fratelli Fresh.
