These days, it seems fewer and fewer Sydney restaurants are offering BYO.  Sad but true, it’s slim pickings.  Just because you want BYO doesn’t mean you will accept a sub-standard resto.  We hear you.

So we decided to come up with a list of our Top 10 ‘quality’ BYO picks (in no particular order).

So, bring along your bottle and (hopefully) save a little cash in the process.  BYO aside you don’t need to sacrifice your culinary experience at these eateries.

  1. PHAMISH
    No nonsense, Vietnamese restaurant with a cool vibe.  Sit on your plastic stool, drink your BYO wine out of a tumbler and bask in the exquisite flavours of Vietnam.  Two words – Duck Pancakes – dee-lish.

  2. IL BARETTO
    This Italian gem is a Sydney BYO institution.  Expect simple Italian cuisine in a casual, relaxed setting, with friendly no-nonsense service.  Their signature dish is the pappardelle with duck ragu.   Just beware payment is by cash only!

  3. UCHI LOUNGE
    Uchi Lounge is a minimalist, zen space, with the downstairs area centred around a stunning stone communal table and the upstairs restaurant featuring individual tables.  Serving up a modern Japanese menu, whilst still respecting tradition.

  4. KEPOS STREET KITCHEN
    This charming all day cafe is serving up Mediterranean dishes with a Middle Eastern twist.

    If you like traditional Italian pizza, you’re going to love this place.  The pizza’s taste straight from Italy – think light, crispy bases and minimal tasty toppings.

    Pompei’s serves up Northern Italian cuisine with traditional artisan pizzas and their very own handmade gelato!

    BYO every night at this smart bistro.  A long standing Bondi staple for good reason.

  9. RIPPLES MILSONS POINT OR CHOWDER BAY
    Ripples Milsons point is set right on the water, offering spectacular views of the Harbour Bridge, whilst the Chowder Bay location offers Pyrmont Bay water views.  Both offer a relaxed modern Australian menu.

    This bustling late night spot serves up hawker style Malaysian cuisine and specialises in roti.  We love watching the guys whip up those rotis!
