We love Asian food.  We’re big fans.  The only thing we love more than Asian food, is Asian fusion food.  What better way to experience the best all Asian cuisines have to offer?

Merivale’s Ms Gs is exactly that.  Combining Vietnamese, Taiwanese, Chinese and Korean cuisines into western inspired dishes, Head Chefs Dan Hong and Jowett Yu have made the most of their Asian heritage.  The dishes are fresh, light and flavoursome, with just the right kick of spice.

One part hip bar, one part groovy restaurant, Ms Gs is a hoot.  It’s loud, it’s busy, and it’s ultra cool.  There are no bookings, so be prepared to put your name down at the door and wait for a table.  But, believe us, it will be worth the wait.

Once you’ve put your name down, head up the three flights of stairs to the bar at the top.  Fingers crossed you’re lucky enough to snare a couch, or at least a stool, but don’t be too disappointed if you’re left standing.  At the bar, you’ll notice the drinks have a sense of humour here.  We love the ‘packaged’ drinks such as Ms Gs famous Yuzu Slushee and their paddle shots.

When it’s time to be seated, don’t be surprised if you’re seated at a communal table.  This is not exactly the place to come for a quiet romantic evening for two.  This is the kind of place you come to eat good food, have a drink, a laugh and a good time.  Whether you’re in a pair, or a group, you’re well covered here.

May our love of Asian fusion continue.  Long live Ms Gs.
