We love a pop-up bar, and we love a bit of culture – so here’s the perfect opportunity to combine the two into one.

As part of the 18th Biennale of Sydney, the Biennale Bar @ Pier 2/3 at Walsh Bay has ‘popped-up’.  Sponsored by Asahi Super Dry, this pop-up bar is open every Friday night for the next 3 weeks and showcases some fantastic events along with its funky concept.

Check out the line up:

  • Friday, 17 August – Programmed by FBi Radio
FBi Radio take over the Pier on Friday, 17 August for an evening of tunes, art and conversation. The Bridge with Harry White profiles the best tunes from Sydney, while Adam Lewis of Radiant celebrates all things DIY/indie/garage/experimental.
  • Friday, 24 August – Programmed by the Biennale of Sydney
An evening where drawing meets music. Artist Kellie O’Dempsey will transform Pier 2/3 before your eyes. Teaming up with MonaFoma collaborator, musician Mick Dick, the pair will create lines and forms against a backdrop of dubbed out Zen jazz and organic sound samples.
  • Friday, 31 August – Programmed by the Sydney Chamber Opera
The final Biennale Bar night will see Kip Williams (Director of Sydney Theatre Company’s Under Milk Wood) create an atmospheric stage for an expressive evening of vocal works, delivered with Sydney Chamber Opera’s trademark curatorial daring and insight. Drawing on the work of some of history’s greatest songwriters, each of the three sets will conjure intense and wild psychological landscapes, elevating the incredible space and works of Pier 2/3 to even more dramatic heights.

So, if you’re stuck for something to do on a Friday night – head on down to check it out!
